Help! - multi-stop holiday?!

Morning all,

DH and I have been able to not only coordinate time off, but also have enough money to book a family holiday for Easter hols next year. Easter falls at the beginning of the 2 week holidays for the children, so we're hoping we can have a good ten days from Tuesday 2 April to Sunday 13 (ish).

We were thinking we'd do a week in Cyprus and then a few days at Efteling, and naively, I was thinking I could just book flights to and from with EasyJet or something.

Turns out I can't lol!

So I guess my question is, has anyone done a multi-stop trip and can offer me some hints and tips? I'm not wedded to Efteling and Cyprus, I just want somewhere we can have some sun, and also keep kids entertained (15,15 and 12).

Can anyone help? Of course if it's too difficult we'll probably just end up with a week somewhere but wanted to ask before I abandoned my search!

Have you checked Skyscanner? You can search for multi-stop flights on there and it will at least give you an idea about possibility and prices.

Honestly I just looked at Easyjet and then randomly googled.

Will try SkyScanner thanks.

The time taken to get from Cyprus hotel to airport, wait around, fly, wait for luggage, transfer to second location will take a whole day out of your holiday, add to the cost by £££ and possibly age you by 10 years 😉. Why bother?? Why not just find a resort in Cyprus that offers something for everyone and just chill for the whole 10 days

ChiefWiggumsBoy · 11/11/2023 14:03

Esp as there doesn't seem to be direct flights between Cyprus/Netherlands lol!

Cyprus and Netherlands seems like an odd combination, I'm all for multi stop hols but this seems an unusual one! If you want a sunny/beach holiday with a theme/water park and lots to do then what about going to Sitges/Barcelona/Portaventura world? or Tenerife and Siam Park?

Fleur405 · 11/11/2023 14:24

Have travelled through Schipol many times (my local airport doesn’t have many interesting routes but it does have lots of regular flights to Amsterdam so I often connect through there) and as far as I can tell from the departure boards you can fly just about anywhere - it’s a fairly major international airport so I would be astonished if this is not doable! I second using Skyscanner as you can search by airport or by country and see what the options are.

I'm certain you can go Cyprus to NL. One way to do multi stop is to look up all the destinations for cheap airlines like ryanair, wizz, pegasus, coredon, easyjet etc and just stitch them together

Doggymummar · 11/11/2023 14:36

You would probably HAVE to do UK Cyprus Cyprus UK Holland I would do something different. Like a two centre turkey, Greece if you want multi stop or how about a cruise, we did Norwigian cruise lines from Barcelona round the med for ten DAYS.

balzamico · 11/11/2023 15:42

If you're not wedded to those destinations I'd do a multi stop within the same country/ area.
We did Istanbul, Cappadocia, and Kalkan (all Turkey) with teenagers which was amazing, or Efterling and Amsterdam/ coast or Paris Disneyland and rural France.

cockeyedoptimist · 11/11/2023 15:51

just come on to say look at Skyscanner for multi stop flights .
But what about Tenerife- all the advantages of a beach holiday and if you like water parks Siam Park will be great for the teens . my son and I went there three times over a 10
day holiday

ChiefWiggumsBoy · 12/11/2023 17:16

@itsmyp4rty honestly, it came about because we really want to do Efteling (went a few years ago and now the kids are bigger want to do the bigger rides!) and we're confident Cyprus will be warm then Grin!

Will definitely look at other combos, I'd be happy to swap out Efteling for water parks or similar, it's just a bit iffy in April I think?

I will look at all your recommendations thank you Smile

This is what really confused me but maybe I just need a Dutch VPN!

Hi Op.
not checked your dates but Transavia fly from larnaca and paphos (Cyprus) to amsterdam. So have a look there.

I went to Efteling earlier this year and would thoroughly recommend. It isn’t that close to amsterdam though, I believe there is a public transport option but it’s not that quick. We drove.
