For me,it's the Earn £10 a day threads which helped massively through lockdown, the promo codes and bargains where I have got lots of great deals, plus obviously the AIBU threads and the chat boards plus anything to do with recipes/new foods to try.

Obviously any parking dispute WITH DIAGRAM tops the list

Robot vacuums!

Brilliant advice and support on the long running cockroach cafe( elderly parents) board started by @ssd over many years
Excellent higher Ed boards
The wonderful @ohyoubadbadkitten and @gloriasmud for the weather info
and the fantastically knowledgeable and supportive cancer crew-
plus general entertainment!

Since I was later stages of pregnancy when lockdown hit and all birthing classes etc got cancelled, i actually learned a lot about childbirth/newborn stages etc from here! Also made me question my parenting a lot more than I think would have done otherwise but overall it has taught me a lot.

My blanket from woolly hugs 🤗

vipersnest1 · 10/11/2023 22:49

The 'Any Old Prolapse' threads which were the reason I joined.
Seeing the abundance of women going through marriage separations after mine in similar circumstances, allowing me to feel validated even though then STBXH had me running round in circles.
The wealth of support that I have received and seeing the support for other posters too.
We may be a nest of vipers, but we are all in that nest together.

Cleaning an oven door with a dishwasher tablet

The great advice given and the genuine caring responses of the majority. 'Banana to mouth. Never mouth to banana' is a recent gem 😂

HiThereSupermouse · 10/11/2023 22:52

The support from Stately Homes threads. And from mental health. Helped me feel less alone. I'm now getting support IRL but I do remember with gratitude that I was respected and listened to on here in the past when I needed it.

Waitingfordoggo · 10/11/2023 23:02

I came for the baby chat 15 years ago and stayed for the feminism.

Love the humour here too and the wisdom and support I’ve witnessed on numerous threads over the years.

EversoDisorganised · 10/11/2023 23:05

Another vote for the Any Old Prolapse threads. Also the Flylady threads, the Doctors threads, the thread for my DC's birth year group, the SN boards and of course Woolly Hugs which has become a big part of my life.

Mojodojocasahaus · 10/11/2023 23:07

Just getting the different perspectives on life from points of view I hadn’t considered

I justify the hours I wile away on here cos it’s educational init

FusionChefGeoff · 10/11/2023 23:13

HRT!! I'm "only" 44 and would have thought brain tumour / MS / other horrible disease(s) if it weren't for the open and informative threads on peri menopause.

Thanks to you lot I am now on Day 2 of HRT

LadyBird1973 · 10/11/2023 23:23

Opening my eyes to how far women are from achieving true equality. And highlighting the dangers we still face.

For the fab relationship advice - I feel that I understand myself and my husband a lot better since I started coming here and I feel better equipped to deal with issues. I think I'm less tolerant of bullshit and more aware of it. MN has increased my awareness of reality.

For the amazing Bootcamp threads - I'm slimmer and healthier as a result.

It's helped me to hone my arguing skills, which has been very useful in real life.

For the humour and general entertainment.

Cleaning an oven door with a dishwasher tablet

HOW do you do this please?

PivotPivotmakingmargaritas · 10/11/2023 23:30

For teaching me what gaslighting is - opened my eyes to that what was/is happening to me. And the infamous ducks in a row saying has helped me bite my tongue while I’m trying to get them in a row ( they keep wandering off 😂) before telling ‘D’P to leave

bluejelly · 10/11/2023 23:42

Having the confidence to leave an abusive relationship.
Having the confidence to take a break from relationships.
Being able to recognise a good man when I found him Smile

Peepshowcreepshow · 10/11/2023 23:57

Korea Italy towels and the Soap and Glory foot file. Mars Lady's lemon drizzle recipe (until I lost it during a house move 😞)

bathroomcupnoard · 11/11/2023 19:41

@spartanrunnergirl Get a dishwasher tablet damp and rub it repeatedly over the inside of the oven glass door. Rinse and repeat. It makes it so much easier to clean.
