Paranormal

Hello, im posting here as the paranormal thread doesn’t seem very active. Im obsessed with the US paranormal youtube investigations. Im absolutely on the fence with whether I believe or not. Im skeptical.

i am currently living in a very old house. Since i moved in two years ago, ive had a few things happen like sensing something there in my kitchen/livingroom- sensing something behind me, falling over when walking like i was pushed (fell over nothing), one time i heard something run up the stairs and i shouted “hi, im upstairs on top floor” but only me at home.

i know this is madness.

im my old house, the spare room used to spook me. I made that into a childs bedroom and my child said he saw a little child and was laughing with them on his bed at night.

in my house growing up, there would always be bangs but nothing explainable.

anyone else have any experiences?

ive had the sleep paralysis at times but nothing which makes me think, yes definitely 💯 real 👻

I do believe in some stuff but if you are watching a lot, that will make you more suggestible maybe?

I don’t tend to watch stuff because I usually hate the style of the shows. It does mean that if I notice something, I’ve never been expecting it or had anything on my mind.

re noises, do you have exploding head syndrome? I do. It took me a while to realise it though.

Have you listened to the Uncanny Podcast on BBC Sounds? It's brilliant and they employ a professional as a skeptic to try and find reasonable explanations for their findings to make it impartial

Our family spook started to be apparent when I was early 20's...it began with hair pulling when I was on the stairs.. And a missing earring turned up back in my jewellery box when I saw it fall into a bin bag weeks before.. Lots of encounters since but none for about 3 years now.

I've seen things in all of my houses apart from my house that im in now. No one ever believes me when I say "I've seen this" or "I've heard that".
What really spooked me was my last house. I happily lived there for 9 years and regularly saw things, esp an old man just standing and staring. My bedroom was the "busiest" room though.
The day before I moved out, my neighbour told me that he hadn't wanted to tell me before, as he didn't want to freak me out, but the gentleman who lived there before me died in my bedroom. That for me explained everything!

Ive only recently started watching these youtube videos eg last two weeks but all my examples above happened prior to this so im not necessarily on high alert. Ive not noticed anything unusual since watching these. When i fell in this house, i went with such a sudden bang i felt like i broke a bone in my hand (outside of my hand) as i couldn’t pick any weight up for months and it hurt so bad. I just remember tripping on anything/nothing to trip on

Ill have a listen. My friends have been to tarot readings for fun at the seaside/some when theyve had relationship breakups and the stuff theyve told me the psychic has said ive always been extremely skeptical, explained that it could mean this/that etc. ive been to a psychic night once as a laugh with the girls. The main psychic came to our table and did a reading for all of us. Nothing of significance came up for me so it was a bit shit but unsurprising. Idk 🤷🏻‍♀️

Name changed as would out me lol but when I was about 4 I got stroppy with my dolls house as the door kept falling off and I threw it in temper. My mum told me off to which I retorted ' if my grandad was here, he'd build me a proper bleeding dolls house!' When asked where I heard that I replied that he had told me when he visited through the hole in my ceiling.

I never met my grandad. He died a very long time before I was born. He was a cabinet maker, a master carpenter and would indeed have made me a proper bleeding dolls house. I had never been told his trade, I'd seen him in pictures but knew little about him except that he was my mums dad and had died.

The phrase 'bleeding' was also not one commonly used in our house. Sodding and poxy tended to be the curse of choice but it was something he apparently said often.

I don't remember the visits I claimed he made nor was there ever a hole in my ceiling.

Hey there! Your experiences sound intriguing, and it's fascinating how paranormal phenomena can stir a mix of skepticism and curiosity. Living in an old house adds an extra layer to the mystery. I've delved into paranormal novels lately, and they often explore the thin line between belief and skepticism.

Your encounters in the kitchen/living room and the mysterious footsteps resonate with the eerie atmosphere many paranormal books capture. Have you considered documenting these occurrences or trying a paranormal investigation yourself? It might shed light on the inexplicable.

As for your child's laughter in the spare room, it's both endearing and mysterious. Children are said to be more attuned to supernatural energies.

Sleep paralysis can indeed be a perplexing experience, blurring the lines between dreams and reality. It's a topic often explored in paranormal literature.

Remember, whether fully believing or staying skeptical, your experiences make for riveting stories. Feel free to share more if you'd like!

Hey! Recently, I've been immersed in paranormal novels, where the boundary between belief and skepticism is a central theme. A theme frequently explored in paranormal literature. Whether embracing belief or maintaining skepticism, your experiences create compelling narratives. Not long ago I came across a good site Alphanovel with books about paranormal phenomena. And I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of books here. I read quite a few of them and recommend you read them.
