I’m just about to leave to pick up my daughter from school who has hurt her finger in PE.

Phone call from the school to say they think it needs to be seen which is fine and I agree with but just trying to work out the best place to take her too as I don’t drive.

GP, small Minor injuries which is closer but unsure if they would be able to X-ray or bigger unit attached to a hospital which is much further away, probably with a much longer wait.

Do we think it’s, broken, staved/swollen, and are they likely to want to re-a-line it?

I would go to minor injuries. It's not an emergency. Hope she's ok.

I agree, minor injuries. They'll probably strap it to the one next door. My DS has done this many times and annoyingly we don't have a minor injuries so we ended up in A&E instead (his was black though Confused)

The only time a finger fracture needs A&E is if there's a risk of circulatory compromise and thus, loss of the finger. It's 100% a minor injuries job.

Thanks everyone, on my way to pick her up and then on the way to smaller minor injuries.

Can she move it? How much pain is she in? What was the mechanism of injury?
Tbh it might be fractured, it might not. It's surprisingly hard to tell from just the look of it. A lot of places won't X-ray digits either
