Water bottle that doesn't leak. Does it exist?

Recently bought a sistema one that was supposed to be leakproof. It wasn't.

Does a leakproof water bottle exist?

It's for my son. He keeps it in his rucksack along with college books etc....

I have a Sho bottle and it doesn’t leak.

I second sho I have one and so does DS, they don't leak and keep drinks cold for ages. Chillys are also good but no better than sho and more expensive

I have a Chilly's bottle, it came with a screw cap lid (doesn't leak) and I found an official sports cap for it (only leaks if I don't close it properly!).

Ion8 bottles are good

Metal bottle - chillys or other brand. Screw cap.

Perfectly leak proof though if it gets dropped and dented, particularly around the top it can leak.

Yes, my DS uses one like this. No leaks and it's been easy to avoid mould in the crannies of the cap.

Sigg bottles are great.

uhOhOP · 10/11/2023 09:05

Nalgene. Highly recommend.

Frank Green bottles are fantastic.

Loads of klean kanteens in our family. Don't leak so long as you push down the nozzle thing. They seem to last forever as well.

These. Picked mine up in TKMaxx and has 3 separate locks to seal it - and they work.

TragicMuse · 10/11/2023 09:18

Contigo all the way. No leakage at all, even when upside down.

I've used them for about 15 years and they're amazing.

MissFizzyPop · 10/11/2023 09:22

One Green Bottle - 3 years nearly daily use and still going strong!

bluesky45 · 10/11/2023 09:25

Me and 2 ds have ion8. No leaks yet. It has a clever lock system on the lid so it won't accidentally open in a bag too.

DuckWithOneWing · 10/11/2023 09:28

I have an ion8. I've had it about a year and it doesn't leak even though it's just in my bag all day.

Octaviathethird · 10/11/2023 10:10

Ion8 for me too. We have 4 in rotation for my 4yo, one did crack on the bottom but it was dropped from a height onto a hard floor. They go in the straight in the dishwasher. https://www.ion8.co.uk/collections/water-bottles

Have got chilly bottle here and also sho (cheaper than chillys) - screw cap on all. All have been fine and not leaked.

Thank you everyone 🙂

Camelpak

thenightsky · 10/11/2023 10:37

The best ones for never leaking are used diet coke bottles.

minipie · 10/11/2023 10:41

Camelbak but only if they remember to close the spout fully

Chillys or similar, but risk of the cap getting lost - and the sports cap has the same issue of having to remember to shut it

Those ones with the flip cap like Ion8 seem to get broken quickly in this house (careless children…)

70sDuvet · 10/11/2023 11:35

Chillys with the added screw cap. Then I can use it for hot or cold drinks.
It really does keep tea/coffee hot for a good 8 hours and drinkable for 12.
Water is cold for 24 if I put already chilled water in or use an ice cube.

I like them as I prefer a sports cap as I am weird about the cleanliness of straw type lids. I do wash the sports lids in the dishwasher and they are fine and give the bottles and screw top lids a good wash at the sink.

For a very cheap no frills option the sisema plastic bottles are absolutely non leak. And cost about £2 for a 500ml bottle. But they are basic and probably quite childish (though plain coloured) for a college aged son.
