How to get something valued

Posting for traffic. I have found something in dms estate. It's a collection of letters from a v famous film actor. The letters are not addressed to dm and it looks like they were bought previously by dm exh in the 60's as there is a receipt.
They are not mine to sell or do anything with rather I need to be v transparent about potential value. I wouldn't have a clue where to take them. I am deep in the west country so not near anything like sothebys.

They are from the 1940's and the addresses on them and the date suggest they are correct in terms of what I found on Wikipedia.

Any ideas?

I used to work in the office at an auction house. I get that they can seem intimidating.
If I were in your situation I would contact one locally and ask them if you can send photos. We (in the office at least) are all pretty human and will be kind especially if you say you're a bit lost with it.
They are used to doing valuations. I would expect them to ask you to send photos and then bring them in. If it is something of high interest they will probably ask someone who specialises in letters for their opinion.
At that point I would assess your options and if you decide to go down the selling route think about whether selling locally or with a more famous auctioneer will serve you best.

I have uploaded pics to Sotheby's now - that was the guidance I was after. Thank you so much

Sorry I cross posted with this.
