Eat or throw away?

Meat free (vegan sausages) Richmond ones. You buy them from the supermarket freezer but accidentally leave them in the car - it's very cold outside but when you realise four hours later they've started to go soft :-( throw in the freezer or in the bin?!

Bin

Wang them in the freezer, they'll be fine!

WooWooWinnie · 08/11/2023 21:20

I would cook them now and then use tomorrow.

Mazuslongtoenail · 08/11/2023 21:21

I’d freeze them.

erandge · 08/11/2023 21:21

I've done this many times and always put them in the freezer and I'm still alive.

ItIsSleeping · 08/11/2023 21:21

Cook then freeze if not wanted in the next day or 2.

Fourlegsandatail · 08/11/2023 21:21

Cook them or pop in the freezer. It’s only veg.

BridgetJonesAsFuck · 08/11/2023 21:21

There's two weeks worth!

They're partially defrosted. Unlikely to be spoilt but if you refreeze them they'll have ice particles and duck on rhem so will need eating asap. Caveat that I'm utterly clueless about vegan sausages.

DilemmaDelilah · 08/11/2023 21:35

I'm another one for cook then freeze. And you can either freeze them on a tray and then pack them into a bag so that you can take out individual sausages, or freeze them in usable numbers, so that you don't have to defrost them all at the same time.

Cook em - cold vegan sausie sambos for brekkie yum!

yellowbears · 08/11/2023 21:37

freeze
the texture might be slightly affected as it has already been partly defrosted, but they shouldn't cause you any harm

Yum! With mustard

I'd freeze them again to be honest unless they were warm. There's no meat in them.

Same and I’m very OTT about food safety.

4 hours be fine if it was cold in the car. 2hrs is fine even if it’s 20 degrees… which it’s not right now

If you’re really worried, cook and keep in fridge and use within 2 days or cook then freeze. There’s no meat in them they will be fine x

BridgetJonesAsFuck · 09/11/2023 11:18

Thanks everyone... guess I'll find out after breakfast tomorrow

Cook them all. Eat some today and tomorrow . Freeze what you don't want to eat immediately.
