Dehumidifier to help drying clothes

Does it really work?

I don't have a humidity problem and just want my clothes dry quicker (no tumble dryer)

I'm looking at this one.

Wondering if there are cheaper / better options out there.

The Meaco turns off automatically when it's full so you know you need to empty it. I would agree it's fairly noisy although I find it quite similiar to a white noise sound so not to intrusive.

DS has one. I hate it. Noisy. Takes over the room it's in. He was using it to dry clothes last summer on very hot summer days. He has a clothes line but couldn't be bothered to buy clothes pegs. Awkward to empty the water (easy to forget to empty the water).

That’s just lazy!

I have two, an ancient one from Argos, which is noisy, and probably inefficient. I use it to dry clothes.
A new meaco 12l with a HEPA filter. I have it on the landing, and run it pretty much permanently all winter. Has helped a lot with mould. It's quite than the old one, but louder than I expected from the reviews, especially with the filter in place. I definitely wouldn't want it in my room.
I thought I'd use it as a fan/filter in summer, but the filter makes it quite loud. I'd probably just get a plain one if I was replacing it.
The website has advice about site and size if you're looking to keep damp away from the house.
