Crisp/Snack Flavours you wish to brought back

Had a conversation over the weekend about Twiglets and how the Worcester Sauce flavour was the best.
Then today while eating boring old Salt and Vinegar Kettle Chips, I remembered that we used to love the Salsa and Mesquite flavour and bought them all the time, until they were discontinued!
What other crisps/snacks do you wish they brought back?

Tyrrells Sunday roast chicken flavour crisps. I used to bulk buy them when I saw fewer and fewer places were stocking them but my stash is gone :-(

katseyes7 · 08/11/2023 22:21

Marmite crisps! God, l loved them. Especially with tomato soup.

Oh! And Phileas Fogg’s Mignons Morceaux. Deep fried garlicky deliciousness.

I only came on to say this. I must have stunk to high heaven in the 80s

Does anyone remember the bacon flavoured crisps that where the shape of a big. Hollow pillows pig shaped?

I posted a pic upthread if it's Piglets you mean.

I remember when space invaders were 10p. Then when they were 20p. The other day I saw some being sold for £1.25 (albeit a larger bag than I recall from my youth). I'm old.

greenpepperredtomato · 09/11/2023 00:02

Glad to see so many miss the Worcester sauce twiglets - they should bring them back!!!
I also remember the tomato Wotsits and yes, Phileas Fogg California Chips. Yum.

Years ago, Walkers did cheese and bacon flavour Wotsits. Omg I loved them. This must have been the late 80s. I'm really hoping that Walkers do their turkey and stuffing ones again this year. They're usually in the shops by now,but I've not spotted any yet. 😟

CloudsNeverStayTheyAlwaysGoAway · 09/11/2023 00:23

@ALongHardWinter I have seen the Walkers Turkey and stuffing ones along with the Pigs in Blankets ones and Christmas Pudding ones! Still trying to get my head round the concept of Christmas Pudding crisps. I do normally like sweet and savoury together but I'm not feeling the love with this one.

GuavaNectar · 09/11/2023 00:30

Can anyone remember a flavour that used to be in multipacks of Frisps, think it was called chef's special? They were amazing!

kell4life · 09/11/2023 01:02

Smokey bacon Monster Munch back in the 80’s and 90’s, current multi packs have now been swapped to flamin hot, for which I really dislike.

Auntiehero · 09/11/2023 01:11

@GuavaNectar yes ! I think they changed the flavours around. I remember there was Honey roast ham and a baked potato one.

I remember sweet and sour quavers in the mid-90s and those were amazing.

Also another mourning the loss of potato puffs. My fave after school snack!

I do wonder when these threads pop up about discontinued food items, how B&M and similar outlets manage to be the only places that seem to sell discontinued lines that seemingly aren't available across other supermarkets or retailers?

scryingeyes · 09/11/2023 03:11

Sensations Vintage cheddar and red onion chutney.
Omg, I drool just thinking about them

LadyChilli · 09/11/2023 07:00

No tortilla chip will ever be as good as the original Phileas Fogg ones, especially their hot chilli flavour.

FinallyFinalGirl · 09/11/2023 09:51

Orangewall · 08/11/2023 18:08

I am absolutely positive there was another flavour of Monster Munch called Nice and Spicy in an orange packet. I remember them being the best in the multipack but no one ever remembers them when we have a similar conversation!

Have you ever tried Johnny's Spicy Rings? They are the best spicy crisps ever.

I miss Brannigans and Tudor Beef crisps. And I seem to remember Walkers did something like Cheese and Marmite some years ago as a limited edition and they were delicious.

WhamBamThankU · 09/11/2023 09:59

@bananamilkshake7 They we're similar but nowhere near as posh looking 😅 I think it was a dark blue bag that was taller rather than wide and they were the most garlicky things ever!

CloudsNeverStayTheyAlwaysGoAway · 08/11/2023 21:17

I miss Beef and original Discos. And I hate that original Squares are only sold as part of a multipack when others are sold individually.

The dell single packs of Squares in my One Stop

Auntiehero · 09/11/2023 10:04

@FinallyFinalGirl I agree about Johnny's spicy rings, love the onion and pickled onion ones too.

BringMeSunshines · 09/11/2023 10:06

waltzingparrot Asda are the only supermarket who sell pickled onion Walkers, when Walkers discontinued them I wrote to them, they said they were very popular in Scotland but not so much in England, then they brought them back.

Oh and you can get them on Amazon, my DH got me a whole box for Christmas a couple of years ago!

Lamb and mint sauce

Was in the 80's I think!

I can highly recommend The Sussex Crisp company's Lamb and Rosemary crisps. Not sure if you can get them out of county but they are well worth the money

I tweeted them to ask if they’d bring them back but they said no. Bastards.

🤣🤣

Mine are Walkers - BBQ. I still order them online via an American sweet shop because I refuse to let them go

Me too but they sell them in Morrisons now in the Eastern European section so I can still get my fix!

Sartre · 09/11/2023 11:44

PlumpAndGrump · 08/11/2023 19:22

Walkers bbq rib

Just a heads up to any other fellow bbq walkers lovers, you can buy a share bag of them in the Eastern European section in Morrisons. They’re obviously Lays rather than Walkers but same shit. I got loads of them when I was last in Poland but then DH spotted them in Morrisons so I get them every so often from there now! Just as good as ever.

@FinallyFinalGirl I agree about Johnny's spicy rings, love the onion and pickled onion ones too.

Yes! Such deep flavours - they're great!
