To a laksa soup, or should I have defrosted them first. I mean to get them out of the freezer this morning, but forgot. Don't want to make family poorly but do want to cook the laksa for tea!

Yes, they are cooked so it will be fine

AllTangledUpInTitlesAndTiaras · 08/11/2023 17:08

I do it all the time. Just make sure they are properly cooked and piping hot all the way through.

You're not supposed to though so I guess you have to decide for yourself whether you want to risk it.

SylvieLaufeydottir · 08/11/2023 17:09

Sure. They're already cooked, so they'll just need to be heated in there for a bit so they get to the same temp as the soup. You could even have used raw ones and just cooked them in the soup.

Oh I didn't notice they were cooked. Yes that's fine - again, just make sure they hot right through.

As above, will be fine if heated through thoroughly.

I've even seen Nigella do it!

blackbirdsinginginthenight · 08/11/2023 17:16

I well if it's good enough for Nigella it's good enough for me

You can also quickly defrost prawns by soaking them in cold water. Works a treat

Now I want laksa for dinner. <cries>
