NYE in Europe recommendations

Has anyone got suggestions for somewhere fun to spend NYE in Europe.

I'd like fireworks, lights still up so it feels festive still, not likely to be pissing it down with rain, good food / drink, not ridiculously busy/big so its easily walkable.

Has anyone got any recommendations? Thanks

I've no idea but this sounds lovely and I hope you find somewhere great. Paris?

Kapalika · 08/11/2023 18:27

Lisbon? Weather wise it’s your best bet!

NYEplans · 08/11/2023 19:06

Thanks. Do they have fireworks etc in Lisbon? Definitely something to look into.

@Disorganisedmess2023 it sounds great in theory - not sure it exists in real life!

Athens? We had a great time in Athens a couple of years ago between Christmas and New Year but didn’t stay for actual NYE.

We also did Oslo last year - cold but beautiful.

Malaga would be perfect

You have to book in advance if you want to go out in Paris, weirdly lots of bars and restaurants close on NYE.

I second Malaga , NYE in Spain is delightful
Eat the 12 grapes for good luck in the New Year ( one grape with each strike of the clock ) toast with sparkly with everyone around you and then kisses all round
After that dancing and high jinks
LOVE , 💖 New Year's Eve in Spain!!

Oh, I'd never have thought of Malaga.- sounds promising.

Not sure I'm in the mood for really cold - but I bet Oslo would be beautiful

I've actually just been to Athens, so not sure if I'd want to go back so soon. Maybe one for next year.
