Signs of movement in our house.

Our house is desperate for a make over. It's been put on hold initially because of covid and then because my terrifically handy husband has been ill and not up to having disruption in the house much less doing the work.

Over the past year or so there's been movement in the house which I suspect has been caused by lots of rain then a lack of rain over a long period. We have signs of movement which although they could be fixed I'm worried could occur again meaning any make over is spoilt.

I need the problem investigating to check that the problem definitely isn't serious. I don't know whether to pay for a surveyor to come and look or go through our building insurance.

I am concerned that if I go through the building insurance there might be an issue when we come to sell even if the matter isn't serious or has been remedied.

Just wanted any advice about the best way to go. The house is about 90 years old.
