Best can opener in the world?

Im looking for one that works easily, and doesn’t leave a sharp edge on the top of the can as I don’t want to accidentally cut myself emptying the recycling crate (we have smaller ones in the house that I then empty into the large crate outside).

Hit me with your recommendations please!

I'm not sure you can slice thin aluminium without leaving a sharp edge of some kind but my Good Grips has just given up the ghost and I'm also in search of The Best Can Opener.... lurking for wisdom.

That’s a good point. I think I mean ‘doesn’t leave a jagged edge’ on the top at the sides of the van, rather than a clean sliced edge on the top of the can within the rim.

Does that make sense?

I was invited to one of those Pampered Chef fundraising parties a decade ago. Not my thing really, was skint and I couldn't go anyway. But I felt I should contribute as it was a cause I was part of.

So, I pre-ordered the tin opener as I needed one and it was one of the cheapest things there. I baulked at the price but sucked it up.

Best thing ever!! So easy to work and still works perfectly 10 years on and doesn't leave a sharp edge.

This may all be useless information as I'm not sure they are still going but if they are then they are worth it.

I was never a fan of expensive kitchen items, but my DW convinced me to give this a try - it's excellent!

Never thought I'd spend £15 on a tin opener - a far cry from my student days

I purchased this Lantana can opener some years ago, and it works very well. I also recommended it to a friend, and she is also very happy with it.

Kuhn Rikon (Swiss make) multitool can opener. I’ll try to find a link. I’ve had this for 6 years. The edge is left blunt. It’s so easy to attach to the can.

I've got one too (bought for the same reasons!) and had it years.Definitely the best tin opener I've owned!
