Could it be oral thrush?

Clemmie4 · 08/11/2023 03:40

those symptoms do match with oral thrush.
Why not visit your local pharmacy? you can get over the counter treatments for this - either a gel, tablet or lozenges and if you don’t see or feel any improvement after a few days then book to see your GP.
I suffered last Christmas with this and it’s so frustrating, it’s not like when you have a headache and can just take a tablet and forget about it.

If you can’t make it to a pharmacy see if you might have anything else in your own medical supplies at home? bonjela for the sore spot, throat sweets or if you have a caneston thrush tablet that will also treat also oral thrush.
Failing that make a warm salt water mouth wash to see if it helps.
Try not to worry 🙂

Do you have any vitamin deficiencies? When I was low in B12 and folate my tongue was sore. Ulcers would sometimes appear too.

Lacey1990L · 08/11/2023 13:14

I’m not too sure tbh

I've had this over the last month and it just went itself after a few days.

Inspirationpending · 08/11/2023 14:05

Had this a couple of years back and eventually had blood tests which showed a folate defiency.
If you visit dentist regularly then very unlikely to be oral cancer as they would pick up on anything unusual

Lacey1990L · 08/11/2023 19:42

Unfortunately I don’t have a dentist I’ve been trying years to get to one ever since covid

Did you ever find out what it was?

OP posts:
Inspirationpending · 09/11/2023 08:55

Mine was folate defiency which cleared up with high dose folic acid for a few months
if it continues check with GP x

Lacey1990L · 09/11/2023 12:19

Thank you x
