Tell me about your wonderful non-creaking beds please!

In the market for a new bed. Currently have a lovely cream iron bed frame with gold knobs and while I love the look, it has been dismantled and reassembled too many times and I just need to look at it now and it CREAKS! It’s impossible to get a good sleep as every tiny twitch results in a screeching noise of metal on metal.

im craving a night of silent sleeping! What should I be looking for? Divan? Ottoman? Budget would stretch to £1k…my mattress is fine but the base…urgh!

Divan.

We previously had wooden -fine but the slats damage the mattress with big grooves.
Metal-like you, we found it impossible to sleep as every time someone turned over the creaks & clanks woke us up.
Divan is a silent sleep.

Divan is definitely your best bet, if you get a good one. Watch out for your bed head though. My elderly sprung divan base with new mattress doesn't creak in itself, but the wooden bed head does.

King koil. They are pricey but amazing

I think probably divan it is then…with a fixed headboard to minimise the creaking? I must say I’m tempted by the ottoman style with all that lovely storage but I’m worried it is just another mechanical piece to squeak at me in the middle of the night when DH turns over!
