If DP was to leave his job, find work somewhere else but have to work a month in hand before he gets paid at the new job, how would that work with Universal Credit? Am I right in thinking deductions would just be based on my wage?

I have no idea how it would work...

I think deductions would be based on just your wage but he would be required to attend meetings, even though he already had a job. Would be not get a final wage from his current job to bridge the gap though?

Yep only earnings received in the assessment period are used to work out is deducted. So if he receives no pay in those 30 days it will only be your earnings used.

@TeaKitten That's what I thought. So he'd get one last wage from his current employer then one the next from his new one?

Depends on your assessment period, any wages paid yours or his during that 4 week period will be counted I think
