Best estimate, between 100 to 150. It's always busy but this felt more manic than usual, I even had to start a queuing system at one point to avoid a crush 😬

Sunshower86 · 05/11/2023 23:02

Around 200. Never lived anywhere with more than 50 before.

WannaLiveInABubble · 05/11/2023 23:03

Well i had around 170 sweets and they all went, handed 1 each. Minus a few, maybe 5 i ate

0 - we live rurally though so have never had one in all the years we've lived here! MIL on the other hand in the middle of a town normally gets quite a lot but only had 2.

LessOfMe99 · 05/11/2023 23:04

0 here too!

Fizzadora · 05/11/2023 23:05

Two. One was my granddaughter who I was expecting and the others thought their TA had moved into my house and they were looking for her.
Otherwise lights off and you can all f**k off and do your begging elsewhere.

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 05/11/2023 23:05

0 and I’d hung out 2 ghosts and a pumpkin too! No one came down our culdesac, I saw two families at the top of the road but they passed us by.

Isthisjustnormal · 05/11/2023 23:06

Somewhere around 250 - we had 300 plus last year so the weather kept a few away!

KohlaParasaurus · 05/11/2023 23:06

Not quite as many as there are sweets in a tub of Celebrations.

PickAChew · 05/11/2023 23:06

None. I live on a busy at rush hour main road and there's not many young families here.

HardcoreLadyType · 05/11/2023 23:06

None!

We were really excited, as we had a knock at the door. DH rushed to the door with the bowl of sweets to find…an Amazon delivery on the doorstep. The driver didn’t even wait around to have a sweet!

RampantIvy · 05/11/2023 23:06

DD lives on a little estate and bought loads of sweets. She had 2 callers.

PossiblyPertunia · 05/11/2023 23:06

I bought 115 sweets and they all went!

DumpedByText · 05/11/2023 23:10

Loads but I ignored the doorbell and they went away! I hate Halloween it's all a load of nonsense! 🙄

FromMilanToMinsk1 · 05/11/2023 23:12

None 😟Never get any here. Been here 4 years and I still hope we will. I used to love them coming round in our last house.

I still get chocs in just in case. Oh well, DH and DS will eat them!

Dontcallmescarface · 05/11/2023 23:12

None, but I don't have pumpkins or anything else outside so luckily I'm left alone.

Notjustamum28 · 05/11/2023 23:17

bought 140 sweets/pkts and they all went. plus about 15 sharesize bags of haribo that i had leftover from another event that i gave out to older/big kids.
would have been more but i ate all the palma violets.

AllHunsBlazing · 05/11/2023 23:18

About 150.

We live between the local infant and junior schools, which my children attend, so they know 90% of them.

We’re the only house on a street of 20 houses that participates, but fortunately we’re on the path between two long, less boring Halloween friendly roads. Otherwise, I don’t think anyone would come.

DreamsAreFading · 05/11/2023 23:21

I wished we had some, but I’m glad I don’t live somewhere where you get 150 like some on this thread. You must never get to sit down! The most we have ever had is about 10.

OuiOuiMonAmiJeMappelleLafayette · 05/11/2023 23:29

1 small group. We didn't have any decorations up, though we did last year, so maybe that's why they came. We had 'stuff' going on so all the lights were off and we didn't answer the door. The dog rushed to the (closed) door and barked at them all really loudly and they all screamed and ran off. So I think they definitely all got a scare! 🤣

NB: we normally decorate and have treats ready, plus the dog is normally in another part of the house on Halloween, as he does love to bark when the door goes, but we weren't prepared this year and didn't think anyone would knock!

fishfingersandchipsagain · 05/11/2023 23:32

We had about 15 small groups (2-4 kids in each).

150+ is mad though! You must be just stood at the door all evening.

Aaaaarrgghh · 05/11/2023 23:34

50-70 at a guess! We had no sweets left by 8pm and I bought a ton!

TheFormidableMrsC · 05/11/2023 23:37

I had 100 packs of sweets and they were gone in 45 mins. Could have bought 100 more. Overrun we were!

ChallaMama · 05/11/2023 23:38

Close to 40 groups!

I like to get into the spirit and had LOADS of sweets and chocolates...so much so we had 10 sweeties left at the end of the night!
Even leaving them out didn't ensure they all went.

It's so nice seeing all the little kids and makes me feel part of the community. I also think if you send your kids out to participate you have to join in too.

HanSB · 05/11/2023 23:52

We had close to 500 in just over an hour, constant massive crowd with doors open the whole time. We live in a converted church so it’s a big attraction in our town. I buy wholesale 5kg bags of sweets!
