DH’s friend is soooo negative

So I’ve snuck upstairs saying I was going to the loo and left DH to ‘entertain’ the friend of doom. His life is nothing but a disaster and everything and everyone is against him.

I feel really bad for abandoning DH, we’ve both been really poorly, tried to put off this visit, if it were just us it would have been a ready meal and pj’s by 6pm.

I’ve a full on roast cooking and can’t be arsed to finish it. Normally I’d do a homemade apple pie and custard, it’s banana’s and ice cream tonight.

I hope the rest of you are avoiding the doom mongers! 😂😂😂😂😂😂

Oh God you’re poor DH and poor you and honestly your poor friend too. It is so tricky. I had a tricky mental health history and I had picked up a few of these friends when I had really weak boundaries. I’ve had to massively distance myself from them more recently because they were sucking the life out of me and genuinely impacting my own mental health.

I think your phone is about to ring and a nearby friend or neighbour will urgently need some help for an hour or so. Sorry friend, I have to pop out for a bit. Carry on sorting the roast with DH yourselves, see you later.

DH used to have an excruciating boring and annoying friend. Weird how his random visits coincided with me needing to go out. I once saw him coming up the drive and put my coat on before I opened the door.

This guy is going to stay for dinner, isn't he?

Send your husband a text saying "I'm going to get rid of your friend, play along with whatever I say" and then go into the room and say "Husband, don't forget XY and Z will be here in half an hour. I need your help with the dinner."

After the loo I hid in the kitchen, it took me ages to finish the meal, we then ate in kitchen, I made them a cuppa but they are still sitting in the kitchen, but I made excuse about promising to ring my mum and disappeared up to our room and am now on mumsnet.

trouble is I am so ready to climb under the covers and fall asleep, I’m going to get sooo much flack from DH.

Could your mother have an emergency that needs him to leave!!!!

A leaky tap, an unflushing loo.

I fell asleep, oops, DH is not impressed. I’ve given them coffee. Friend of doom went to the loo and I’ve told DH I’m going to bed soon as I feel crap.
