Omg my cats are so annoying!

They’re proper outdoor cats, love being outside so much, but obviously only on their own terms. So they were severely vexed last night when I kept them in because of firework displays. Properly complaining loudly, pacing around, and pleading with me to let them out.

So today, because there might be displays again tonight and I intend to keep them in again, I’ve shooed them all out for a few hours to get their much needed outdoor time. Do they want to be out? Nope! I ended up in some comedy of errors situation where I’d get one one out, and one would squeeze back in, I’d get three out, and one would turn around and scamper back in, all the while complaining loudly at me for kicking them out. They’re now all sat at the kitchen window looking at me like I am the worst owner ever.

Just why!!!

The answer to why is because.

Furry blighters.😂

Yes!! This is my cats! Only come home to eat, but I had to keep them in last night, probably again tonight. Tried to let them out before I went to bed as they'd been meowing and scratching at the door earlier, but they weren't having it, so for the first time in years, they stayed in last night.

haha! Mine have to go out because the only drinkable water in the world is the puddle on the pavement by the front door - nothing else will do, nothing else is acceptable, they would rather die of dehydration than drink anything I can offer them inside

Timmydimmy · 05/11/2023 16:32

Mine only drinks from the kitchen tap,or tries to from the toilet.Water from a water bowl must be treated with utter contempt.

shardash · 05/11/2023 16:44

One of mine drinks from DH's bedside glass of water. I still haven't decided whether to tell him or not.😂

GorgeousLadyofWrestling · 05/11/2023 16:59

They’re so contrary 😂

They're all in now it’s getting dark - came running in like they were out for days - and I have no doubt they will be climbing the walls shortly.

Mine treated my (thankfully slippered) foot to a full on grab, bite & bunny kick this afternoon because I wouldn’t immediately let her out, 2 mins after I’d let her back in again. She has a cat flap she’s free to use, but why bother learning to use it, when she has 4 humans to let her in and out of the door to order?
