Anybody any experience of this on Vinted?

I ordered an electrical item and it came completely broken. Plastic all snapped and cracked and it's basically now only fit for the bin. It's unusable and I can't salvage it.

The seller did bubble wrap it so I'm surprised this has happened during transit tbh. I've reported to Vinted.

Will they just issue a refund or can the seller dispute it? I'm worried I'm going to have a struggle on my hands to get my money back. Never had any issues before buying stuff off there but then again I've only ever bought clothing..

You should be able to claim the money back and the seller claim for damages through the service it was delivered through. I wouldn’t bin it in case the seller requests it back for proof.

I imagine you’ll get your money back. I sold an electrical kids item on there and packaged it perfectly. The buyer said the packaging was damaged. They got the refund and kept the item. As the seller I didn’t get paid and I never saw pictures of how badly it was damaged, despite me sending pictures of it in pristine condition. If it was just the thick cardboard packaging and the actual item was fine, then the buyer was on to a winner. In your case I think you’ll get your money back, but the seller will lose out (if they sent you a dodgy item then fine, but if they packaged it well, then they’ll be losing out, not you).

Vinted are notoriously awful with returns. your at the mercy of the seller. They are not obliged to refund your postage or your return postage even if the item is damaged or incorrect.

Vinted have just said they will refund me. I am confused though how it could be so badly damaged when it was wrapped in bubble wrap.

Can the seller dispute it and affect the outcome of my refund? I wouldn't blame them if they did as I would be fuming if I'd sent an item and this happened and I lost out
