I have to travel from near Waterloo to Heathrow Terminal 3.
What's the quickest and easiest way, please?

(I have googled but I get so many different suggestions my head is 🤯)

I’m sure there’s a Heathrow express train - from memory it goes from Paddington so you could get the bakerloo line from Waterloo to Paddington then the train. Or get the northern line from Waterloo to Leicester Square, change to the Piccadilly line and get that all the way to Heathrow. The express train is quicker, the tube is cheaper

Alonglongway · 05/11/2023 12:26

from Waterloo tube, Jubilee line to Bond St then Elizabeth Line to Heathrow.

SoRainbowRhythms · 05/11/2023 12:28

Quickest - Bakerloo to Paddington and the Heathrow express.

Cheapest - jubilee to bond Street then the Liz line.

SquirmOfEels · 05/11/2023 12:28

I'd go by Tube, Jubilee line to Green Park, change to Piccadilly and that takes you there.

Otherwise Tube Bakerloo line to Paddington and get the Heathrow Express.

londonloves · 05/11/2023 12:29

I agree with the jubilee to Bond street then Lizzie line to Heathrow - as there are lift options for all those stations which will help if you have luggage. Personally I wouldn't fancy the Bakerloo line with a suitcase.

Nesbi · 05/11/2023 12:31

Heathrow Express from Paddington is the quickest option (42 mins) but expensive.

take the Elizabeth Line line from Tottenham Court Road and it will take about an extra 10 mins but cost less.

BananaPalm · 05/11/2023 12:31

Heathrow Express is VERY often cancelled so I wouldn't risk it, particularly if you're right on time.

civetcat · 05/11/2023 12:34

Northern line tube to Leicester Square, then Piccadilly tube to Heathrow. Much cheaper than express. We always take the tube to Heathrow. Avoid rush hour if you can

Whataretheodds · 05/11/2023 12:35

What time of day, what day of the week?

Nesbi · 05/11/2023 12:35

I wouldn’t bother with the Heathrow Express either now the Eliszabeth Line is running (although I did once pay for first class on the Heathrow Wxpress, which didn’t cost much but meant I could use the business class security lane when I got to Heathrow (even though we were flying Economy). Did help save us some hassle.

londonloves · 05/11/2023 12:35

Ok, I just double checked Citymapper - which is almost always right - it says Jubilee to Bond street then Elizabeth Line. 48 mins. The Lizzie line is fab - quiet, clean, regular trains. Lifts at every station. Much better option than Bakerloo or Picadilly IMO.

Kaftankween · 05/11/2023 12:35

Heathrow express is always being cancelled. I would jubilee line to green park and then change to the Piccadilly line. It looks a long way to Heathrow but is pretty quick.

Kaftankween · 05/11/2023 12:37

Or yes, the Elizabeth line. Forgotten about that.

Lizzie line is more expensive than Piccadilly to Heathrow - but yes cheaper than the express and nicer than the tube.

mylittleprince · 05/11/2023 12:39

Cheapest would be the Piccadilly line, then Elizabeth Line is slightly more and the Heathrow Express is the most expensive.

baileybrosbuildingandloan · 05/11/2023 12:48

TFL route finder is brilliant 😊😊

Oh I thought it would just be the same zone fare! I've assumed and made an ass out of you and me 😊

Piccadilly line is looooong and boring tho 😄

TripPlanning · 05/11/2023 15:08

THANK YOU!!!!!

I knew MN would help!

I'll be travelling on a Friday early afternoon.

I think it'll be tube from Waterloo to wherever I can get on the Elizabeth Line.

Thank you again FlowersFlowersFlowersFlowers

The Elizabeth Line uses the same fare structure as the Tube and is much much quicker than the Piccadilly Line. You just have to make sure you time it right because not every Elizaebth Line train goes to Heathrow.

Iamnotastick · 05/11/2023 15:43

Bakerloo Line from Waterloo to Paddington and get the Heathrow Express - should take you about 45 minutes!

Option 2 is Jubilee Line from Waterloo to Bond Street and get the Elizabeth Line but personally I find that line really unreliable and would prefer the peace of mind of Heathrow Express!

HappiDaze · 05/11/2023 15:45

You can pre book a local airport taxi service they're usually fairly cheap

warriorofhopelessness · 05/11/2023 15:46

Just to be different, I would take the Northern Line to Totttenham Court Road and then Elizabeth Line.

Slav80 · 05/11/2023 15:48

Go to Piccadilly Circus on the Baketloo lane and switch to Picadilly Line, the cheapest way.

Aydel · 05/11/2023 15:51

Northern line to Tottenham Court Road then Elizabeth line. Short walk between the two at TCR; walk at Bond Street from Jubilee line is much longer. Be at back of Northen line train and you’ll come out right by the Lizzie Line lift if you have baggage.

Bruisername · 05/11/2023 15:54

Elizabeth line costs more than Piccadilly (over double). Zone 1 to heathrow is £12.80 on Elizabeth line
