Anyone up? Really worried about TSS (UTI symptoms)

I stupidly left a tampon in overnight a couple of days ago (way over 12 hours, definitely too long). I’ve now got UTI symptoms, needing to pee a lot, thirsty, some pain etc. I don’t have a temp or any of the main symptoms of TSS but I feel so worried because of the tampon… I’ll obviously get help for the UTI tomorrow but does it sound like it could be TSS? I’m panicking which is probably over the top.

Was it a super strength tampon? Do you have a blood pressure monitor? It would be low according to a quick google.

Thank you both. It wasn’t a super strength tampon. I don’t have a blood pressure monitor. Think I am getting anxious now which is making everything worse, feel sick but probably just worried. Definitely feels like a UTI as I’ve had them before, think they’ve always made me very thirsty. Trying to stay calm as it’s the middle of the night…

Yes I have anxiety sometimes, not diagnosed or anything but I am going through a very stressful time. I wouldn’t be worried if it wasn’t for the tampon, but I read leaving one can also cause a UTI.

I’m going to try to do something to calm down now and see if I feel better, then call the doc in the morning I think if I don’t

Not TSS- you’d be extremely unwell suddenly with that, and it’s pretty rare too. It’s a UTI which you can feel pretty unwell with and are extremely common. Get some sleep, relax and see doc for antibiotics if symptoms don’t clear over next couple days.

I managed to sleep a bit but woke up very hot and sweaty. Took temp and it’s normal (36.4) so maybe just UTI combined with anxiety… may ring 111 later.

I am very thirsty which is strange..

Pretty sure I have a bad UTI now, just waiting for doc to call back…
