Krakow

I've just booked 4 nights in Krakow for DH's 60th birthday next April. I'm looking for recommendations for nice restaurants and bars, specifically a nice fancy one for the night of his birthday. We're not fussy and are quite keen to try some traditional Polish food too.

Also has anyone done Zakopane and Chocholow hot baths? Is it worth it? We're planning on going to Auschwitz one day as well and possibly the salt mine if we have time.

There are numerous restaurants all round the square (and in roads off it) in the old town. You'll have no issue at all finding somewhere nice, just strolling along.

It's so beautiful.

I haven't been to the hot baths, but the Salt Mines are definitely worth it.
I wasn't at all sure, but we did decide to go and it was breath-taking.

Pimiento was out of this world.

We did the salt mines and Auschwitz in one day. Long but doable.
