I’ve just been banned FOR LIFE from Reddit!
A woman yesterday posted up asking for advise after her hubby beat her up so I suggested she dumps him fast, reports him, changes the locks etc. I did NOT put in any bad language or anything, and when I went to log in today there's a big red banner at the top saying I’ve been permanently banned for my comment!

They also actively allow a huge amount of sex/porn filth on there, perverts making the most revolting comments. There was one recently blatantly advertising a gangbang booze drugs party at their house and charging a fee.

I reported them but of course nothing was ever done!

So Reddit, you like supporting wife/woman bashers/domestic abusers do you?

Well, there’s only one thing I can say to you: UP YOURS, KNACKERHEADS!

I had to leave Reddit after they banned every single female-centred sub including the one set up to support women who have PCOS. But the sub that depicts drawings of women being dismembered and raped is A-OK.

They know what a woman is when she's being raped and beaten, sure. Just don't mention periods!

It's a disgusting place.

What was the sub?? This is a very typical reply on r/relationships etc so this seems very odd

To be fair that was the same on MN and IRL. Critical thinking went out of the door everywhere because someone at Channel 4 and a Times reporter with a dodgy background of poorly-researched articles and unsubstantiated claims said RB did a thing that, months later, he still hasn't been charged for. 🧐

I’m banned for life as well. Don’t even know why. I mainly frequented the MAFS and Eastenders subs so god knows what I said!

Sometimes you’re banned by a computer error. Put in a request to have it looked at by a human. This happened to me, I had my account reinstated, it was a computer error.

There is so much good stuff on Reddit, I’ve found plenty of female centred subs, and I’ve also found subs that call men disgusting and that all men use prostitutes.

To say Reddit is xyz is like calling the internet xyz. There’s the weird, offensive, funny, abusive, kind, instructional, there’s everything on there. Please don’t say Reddit is bad.

You want to knit? Crochet? Make whimsical cakes? Bread? Talk about why your grass isn’t as good as your neighbours? Ask about shoe brands? Get hair advice? Talk about the news? Irreverent stuff? Look at pictures of the countryside? Ask about the best walking boots out there? Show off your newly decorated bathroom? Show off your awful bathroom and want advice on how to make it less awful? Practice your terrible Spanish? It’s all there on Reddit.

I got banned from one sub for offering advice years ago. I think somebody was having a hard time at work and I said call in sick tomorrow. I got banned from the sub for that lol

@etazhi I’m not sure, I like the upvote and downvote system Reddit has. Here, the comments cannot sink to the bottom, and once you get used to the multiple strands on a Reddit thread, it’s easier to find the good answers. And if someone is rude it’s often hard to justify why the comment should be deleted, so people end up in a back and forth of arguing, whereas on Reddit you just watch as the downvotes roll in and the comment sinks without trace.

I had a comment with a 4k upvote once, oh boy was I feeling smug 🤣.

Its all meaningless though. I commented on something last week, got 20 downvotes, and someone said the same I had said and got 30 upvotes 🤷‍♀️.

30k 🤯🏆. And if you made that joke here no one would be able to find it again. I quite often set a sub to ‘all time top votes’ and especially when it’s an advice sub there is so much useful info there.

What on earth have @etazhi ‘s posts been deleted for? They didn’t break any guidelines.
