Some people baulk at the thought of receiving socks as a gift but not me.

DH likes socks
DD loves fancy socks - glittery, netty, frilly etc

I love walking socks - I have bridgedale ones. I never knew socks could be so comfortable until I had them - they feel lovely

Yes, a good quality pair of socks are a thing of beauty.

(I also have a thing for tea towels, but I strongly suspect I’ll be alone on this one 😬)

My favourite pair of socks are stripey ones hand knitted by a friend. Very cosy.

I'm asking for socks this year

My running socks are going through at the toes, so need 2-3 new pairs. Ideally in madly bright patterns.
All (and I'm nearly being literal here) my other socks have mysteriously vanished (I'm blaming DD), so I need a good restock, especially warm winter socks

And I wouldn't mind a couple of frivolous fluffy pairs for padding round the house.

Yes I love them but I’m really fussy about them too. Can’t wear thin slippy down socks that have all those grim loose threads inside. It’s tricky finding socks that are comfortable and stay up!
Today I’m wearing walking socks from Trespass, they are my favourite but a bit old now, hope I can find the same ones to buy again!

I love socks:

  • Thin cotton and Lycra in various block colours for wearing in ordinary shoes:
  • Woollen ones with a bit of stretch for earring in boots and trainers, especially with some patterning
  • Thick fleecy Heat Holders ones in rich colours with a brushed inner (2.3 tog) are great for keeping my ankles from feeling icy on colder days and wearing in Wellies.
  • Cashmere socks, particularly good to wear in bed

Secret Santa knows they can't go wrong with these at Christmas or at any time in fact. 🌹
