Charity Quiz Sheet - techy help needed please

I've sold quiz sheet for a few years, for a different charity each time. It's a paper quiz and the idea is that it's done/shared over the festive season, with a submission date of mid January. That's the background.

I started off by selling for cash at work, all paid by me to the charity. Since lockdown people have donated via my JustGiving page - but in doing that they have to email me to request a quiz - and I send that by return email. If they don't email, I am dependent on checking Justgiving details - but some donate anonymously & choose not to provide email address there, so it requires a lot of detective work to figure out who has paid for a quiz but not emailed (it's ok when it's people I know, but occasionally the link gets passed to friends of friends, and that's where it gets tricky.)

So, thinking it would be good to set up something where people pay, the money goes to my JustGiving page for the charity, and the quiz is automatically emailed to the purchaser. The sort of thing I am thinking of is EventBrite, and have also come across Tickettailor. I haven't explored either in detail, but thinking that the charity bit may be the stumbling point (I don't want the payments to come to me). Does anyone know of anything that might be suitable? Or used Eventbrite/Tickettailor to raise money for charity? This is a relatively small scale operation, I probably sell around 150 quizzes....am just trying to make life easier.

Thanks!

I don't have an answer, but I wouldn't use Eventbrite to collect the money as you won't benefit from Giftaid that way.

Thanks @ReviewingTheSituation - it can't/ shouldn't be gift-aided as purchasers are receiving something in return (well that's my understanding..)

Do the anonymous donors want a quiz sheet or are they happy just to donate?

I'd assume that they know you can't contact them with no details and don't spend time tracking them down. Unless the donation is large that can't be an efficient way to raise funds

That's interesting. I wonder how many people tick the gift aid box anyway...

Ticketmaster may work then, but you probably have to nominate a bank account for the sales. Your charity may give you details of an account (I've paid money to charity by BACS before), but make sure they know what you're setting up.

@VisionsOfSplendour true they may not always want the quiz. Admittedly this situation doesn't arise often but just trying to make the purchasing process easier (for me). Currently: get email request (or not!) - check Just Giving - send email. Fully automated would be my ideal 😀

No it doesn't raise a huge amount - usually in region of £500. But fun to do.

Eventbrite might not be ideal, you have to set the number of tickets in advance, although you can increase the "capacity" while the event it live. It's been free until a few weeks ago, but theres now a fee for events with over 25 tickets.

I would look at shop options rather than events. I've used sum up you don't need to but the card reader to set up an online shop. You can set up a few different donation levels each as a separate item in the shop, each of which would send the same quiz sheet.

I think TicketSource gives you the ability to allow people to make additional donations. It was quite some time ago that I looked at it though, for selling tickets for charity fundraisers. You can gift aid additional donations, not the quiz sheet price itself.
