Decent work laptop?

My needs are:

Basics like email, excel, teams etc.

Something that can run relatively basic data analysis software, nothing particularly heavy usage.

However, I need a tactile / easy to use keyboard that feels nice to use if that makes sense? Decent screen size, not massively heavy and that’s going to last me a couple of years. I’ll be working in different offices and hot desking so needs to be easy enough to cart around.

Budget up to £1k, I’ve only used MacBooks at work really, a long time since I’ve used a PC. Wondering if I should just go for a Mac or if a windows laptop would be better.

Please help me out, I can’t afford to get this wrong really. Thank you! X
