Pain in my neck started last night, progressively got worse, could tell it was swollen on one side.
Has got worse and worse today. Gland swollen more, feels bruised and almost like I’ve been punched in the neck/jaw. But no obviously infection in my ear or teeth. Almost like a big lump at top of jaw near ear, which could be gland, touching it hurts like hell.
Couldn't get to GP, but managed to go through walk in clinic. Very dismissive as no pain in ear (only up to ear lobe) and said must be teeth. Asked for antibiotics as it must be the start of an infection. Was refused, told to see dentist. This was at 3.45pm, couldn’t get through to dentist on phones, by the time I rocked up there to see if they’d see me, it was closed.
Ibuprofen and paracetamol not even knocking the pain down, and I’m fairly good with pain. I’m in agony. Struggled to eat as jaw hurts to open. Some shooting pains into ear but not like a normal ear ache.
What is it? Start of tooth abscess or something more sinister.
