So scared - left tampon in for too long

I went out last night and had a few drinks and accidentally left my tampon in overnight, over at least 16 hrs overall, much too long. Now I’m terrified of TSS. Please reassure me others have done this and been OK?

Thanks everyone! I’m feeling fine today and trying to forget about it… won’t be doing it again though, has scared me off tampons tbh. If anyone has any alternative recommendations pls send them along, eg do period pants actually work and which brand?

I think you need to keep this in proportion!
If you have used tampons with no problem previously why would you stop just because of a minor oversight.. major OVERreaction.
Just don't forget again... whether you have been drinking or not!

@Bonbon21 ha yes you are right of course but I really shouldn’t have googled TSS. It is such a horrendous illness, I’m not sure I can use tampons now…

@meatbaseddessert i read that mooncups also carry a risk of TSS?

@Emmajifjust remove it and carry on with life. If you develop TSS symptoms (highly unlikely) see a dr.

Definitely take it out !!!!
