WhatsApp question

If I put my phone onto airplane mode, then open WhatsApp and read a message. I've not been seen on whatsapp (as in last seen) when I opened the message. If I then close WhatsApp and turn airplane mode off, the sender can look at the message info and will see I read it but won't necessarily have the 2 blue ticks. Is that correct ?

The blue ticks will appear as soon as you come off airplane mode. Only way to avoid it is to change your settings to remove the ability to people to see the blue ticks but then you won’t see them for messages you send either

Oh really? I thought it would have stayed on delivered/no blue ticks after coming off airplane mode?!

sounds like a lot of angst about nothing! Just read the message or don't read it!

blue tick will show with what time the message was read Even if it was in airplane mode

just turn off your read reciepts

. My WhatsApp message always appear unread despite I have read them on my watch. The blue tick will only appear once I read the message on the pp itself
