Modern middle-age quirks

Does anyone else have multi-packs of cheap reading specs spread around the house? In theory, they're always handy when needed. In practice, my lovely hubster still manages to lose them, and new multi-packs need to be purchased from time to time. Just like cheap biros! 😆

Any other modern middle-age quirks?

We have this. DP has very nice prescription varifocals but somehow he never takes them out with him and never has them near him and steals all my multipacks. We go out for the evening the one pair of glasses gets passed round the entire table

That's us too. DH manages to break any he lays his hands on as well, so most only have one arm.

Wearing my bum bag all day every day especially around the house. It's just so handy! I can carry my phone, my £2 glasses from Poundland, pick up stray hair clips etc that i find around the place.

I am rubbish at drinking these days so when I do go out for a potentially big night out I pre prepare by leaving pints of water, rehydration salts, ibuprofen and milk thistle tablets by the bedside. Ten years ago I could get utterly twated and still jump out of bed and do park run, these days not so much.

I also make weird noises when getting up out of the armchair, a bit like the sounds mating gorillas make on the Attenborough documentaries.

For me it's lipbalm

It's everywhere

twilightcafe · 03/11/2023 20:41

Hand cream and lipbalm in every bag
Grin at the communal reading glasses that get passed round the table when it's time to read the menu.

I do this with my Uniqlo bag!

Reading glasses on a chain is a partial solution to the dozens of cheap readers that somehow seem to accumulate in the downstairs loo.

Or varifocals, which is where I am now. 😫
