New Samsung Phone - Charger

I've just received delivery of a new Samsung phone and I'm aware they no longer come with the plug part of the charger, but this charging lead is the same at both ends i.e. they are both the connection that plugs into the actual phone. I was expecting a USB connection at one end so I could plug it into a USB plug which I've got from my previous phone. I do have an existing plug/charger but how are you supposed to charge this new one if you haven't, as this doesn't fit into a USB plug?

You can get plugs which take USB C cables instead of USB. You can probably also get an adapter to convert USB to USBc so you can use your existing plug.

My iPad came with a cable like that but it did at least come with the plug!

USB C to USB C is the cable you need for fast charging.

I got one recently too. I think the idea is that you buy a charger from them. Alternatively you can plug it into a laptop or other device to charge, assuming you have one.
What model did you buy? Was there an offer on to get a free charger?

@Sexlivesofthepotatomen alternatively, just go and buy a type c with an ordinary usb type at the other end., in the future, all cars are supposedly going to be fitted with type c. supposedly type c is better for sending data than usb

Thanks all, I'll stick with my existing charger for now but I'll probably buy a couple of the type C plugs anyway.

yes, my brand new car has both USB and USB C

one advantage is that you can't get them the wrong way round like USB!

Hi again, I have another issue if anyone can help. Whenever I take a screenshot I get a notification, this has only happened on this phone. I only have notifications switched on for messaging apps but these notifications are still on. I've googled and it says there is a screenshot notification option in all notifications...there isn't.

Can anyone help, it's driving me mad!
