Please can anyone advise me how much this may cost?

I've heard NHS waiting lists for spinal injections are about 6 months- I am absolutely desperate and willing to pay

Any advice appreciated, thank you

a consultant will see you and want an MRI, you may have one they can see from the NHS, The issue may or may not be amenable to the injection

Do see your GP to Maximise oral meds

@MafsisNafsbutcompelling I have been in frequent contact with my GP , and the medication they keep prescribing does not seem to help. Currently on amatraptlin but think I may now need a higher dose

I did but was on holiday in spain, was about €150 10 years ago. Unfortunately it really didn't even touch the sides for me but the Dr was absolutely bonkers so was worth every penny just for the entertainment. Some people have great luck with them though so I'd be tempted to try again.

just for the record, I've just spent £700 that I really don't have on private blood tests desperately seeking an answer so I'm more than willing to starve and chuck money at things to try fix me.

I've had a spinal steroid injection privately. I'd have to look up the cost as I claimed through my health insurance.

I had to have an MRI first and, from recent orthopaedic surgery, the scans and blood tests can be surprisingly expensive relative to the consultant and procedure itself.

Hi, sorry to hear your in pain, it's awful!
I had a prolapsed L5/S1 (I think?) My amazing step mum paid for me to go to the Nuffield hospital in Derby to have a private consultation with the spinal surgeon. I'd already had an MRI and been seen on the NHS, but couldn't cope any more with just oral painkillers. The cost was roughly £1500? Including the consult, I was there for the day and it really did help with my sciatica pain.
Good luck, I hope you find some relief. Xx

You're probably looking at approx:
£400-700 for MRI of lumbar spine
£320 for initial consultation with spinal surgeon to discuss imaging plus options.
£2500-£3000 for the injection/s
Further £320 for follow up consult.
There is no guarantee of the injection providing symptom relief. It may however be worth paying for an initial consult to get an idea of the procedure which is most appropriate for you.
