So there's been all this noise about "wokery" etc and I kind of haven't followed it properly and don't know how to cut through the issues in the form they're simplistically packaged up in - here's what I care about:
Access to the outdoors and beautiful spaces and artefacts for everyone
Honest historical narrative (including uncomfortable truths about empire and slavery) from different points of view
Preserving beautiful expensive things for everyone to enjoy without arse-licking of those traditionally rich enough to have them made, keep them and maintain them
Facing new climate realities with creativity and vision
Some of that looks like I might be a bit lefty (which I am) but I am against trans washing history, in particular, anything which implies that daring women or gender non conforming people of the past were "actually" of the opposite sex. I think that's actually dangerous, not just annoying. I also don't think that a sexual focus on non sexual things is interesting or refreshing, it's stupid and cloying and claustrophobic and doesn't allow women and girls (in particular) the headspace away from being sexual beings all the time that I like to experience with my daughters
So
What do we think about the candidates?
