I'm so tempted to let the kids stay at home today. I'm in London so weather is shit but nothing like others are getting. I just don't want to go out in the rain and it's gonna get really windy later at school pick up time It's 45 min travel by public transport . I can't can't ve arsed with it all . Thing is is only just come into November and I think my kids have already had roughly a week off.

Honestly. From your tone I think this could be a defining moment in your parenting. At the moment you sound ground down and low energy and not prioritising your DCs education.
Get up, get them dressed and go. Take a thermos if you have one.
When you get back do things which improve you and your family’s lives not limit them.
Clear a room/ bake/ plan a trip to a farm or museum/ research wellies/ menu plan/ order craft supplies/ reserve library books

I agree with @Lamelie

You need to be the grown up here. Take them to school.

Doyoumind · 02/11/2023 07:20

If I didn't work and my DC didn't go to school when we couldn't be arsed we would spend most days not working or not in school. It's not a valid reason not to go and it sets a bad precedent if you keep them at home.

Get them to school. What sort of message does it give children if the weather puts you off doing things?

Sirzy · 02/11/2023 07:24

Lamelie has it spot on.

giving a message of I can’t be arsed so let’s stay home won’t help long run!
