Fingers turning blue

Sometimes my fingers look like they have ink stains all over them. It started after the birth of my second child about 5 years ago and now occurs seemingly randomly. It's just happened now and I'm not cold, have done nothing unusual. When it first happened the GP said it was probably due to not moving about much cos of the baby and didn't seem concerned. But im starting to wonder if I should get a second opinion. Does anybody have any experience of this?

I assume it's peripheral cyanosis...but can't think why!

TicklishPossession · 01/11/2023 20:11

Ooh never heard of that: just looked it up but I don't have any pain at all. It's just the blue!

Raynauds

Raynauds is also my guess. I have a spot of it, but it's intermittent.

TicklishPossession · 01/11/2023 20:33

Thanks all, I assumed there'd be something else with Ryanauds, like a physical sensation or a clear link with being cold. I shall do some more googling!

Raynauds, my DH has it.

Raynauds

Raynauds can be linked to other health conditions, so I would see a different GP at your practice about it.

Thanks for this, I think I will

Have you ever worked with vibrating equipment like drills, chainsaw, sanders etc? Hand arm vibration can lead to permanent damage to veins, capillaries and so on.

TicklishPossession · 02/11/2023 10:26

No, nothing vibrating 🙈
