Has anyone received theirs yet?
We've had a letter saying we're getting it but not sure when the DWP will pay it.

I've had a letter saying I will get it sometimes between November and February. If it doesn't come until February then it's a good job I am not dependant on it. Last year I got it in November so, fingers crossed, it will be here soon.

Manadou · 01/11/2023 18:09

I got a letter last week, DH got one this morning, they usually pay late Nov/early Dec for us.

Are you both getting a payment?

Are you both getting a payment?

Yes, £250 each, as we are both over state pension age.

We got a payment each last year but I thought it was a mistake!

The letter says I qualify for £250 because I was born before 24 Sep 1957, and I am living with someone else who also qualifies.

It goes on to say that the £250 includes 'extra money from the government to help with the cost of living'.

Dear Husband got an identical letter a few days later.

We should also get the £10 Christmas Bonus in the first week of December. Whoopee!

I said this morning that we had the £10 Christmas Bonus to look forward to (slightly sarcastically) and he said "Better in my pocket than someone else's"

My mum hasn't had her letter yet, but I've noticed in the last few years her payment has gone later and later and has been in December the last couple years. May pray it doesn't get to cold before then so!

Yes, exactly.
We turned the heating up this morning. It's got colder here all of a sudden. (Scotland's West Coast).

It seems ridiculous that a couple each get a payment or conversely a single person gets half as much (However you look at it) as most of the fuel (other than showers) isn't half (or double)

if you need it, hope you get it soon!

AFieldGuideToTrees · 01/11/2023 19:20

My mum's getting £600. Is the amount age related? She's very elderly.

AFieldGuideToTrees · 01/11/2023 19:24

Just had a look and it's age and circumstances related. So if you're on your own, you'll still get the same amount as two people.

We get £250 each but if one of us lived alone or with someone who wasn't eligible it would be £500 so that does not arise. If two people living in the same household are both eligible it's split between them.

@Manadou

oh right, that's good. I guess no matter which way it's done, it will seem unfair to some.

as my Dad would have said 'Who told you life was going to be fair'

Yes. An under 80 would get £500, she gets more.

Zebedee55 · 02/11/2023 17:44

I've had a letter saying I'm getting £500 because DH died this year. It usually (for me) arrives end of November.

Chrysanthemum5 · 02/11/2023 18:12

Yes just got a letter today

TheShellBeach · 02/11/2023 18:22

Just got my letter today and I'm getting £500.

I think it's because we get Pension Credit.

DH is also getting £250.
