Looking for something fairly lighthearted/funny or true crime (I know) but open to all suggestions so please give me the names of your favourite podcasts.

Off menu with Ed Gamble and James Acaster. It's like a Desert Island Discs, but it's a dream restaurant where you can have any starter, main and dessert from any period in your life.

It might take you one or two to get into it but start off with listening to the Claudia Winkleman one. She's hilarious.

FortyFacedFuckers · 31/10/2023 23:42

Thank you I will add all of these to my list as well!

Table manners
The guilty feminist

UndercoverCop · 31/10/2023 23:46

Definitely lady killers, not funny but pacey and an interesting angle on true crime.
I also really like my teenage diary on BBC4/BBC Sounds that's very funny but not crime related.

Cuddle club
Along with most of the ones mentioned above I listen to them as it's like having a conversation with friends, easy listening and funny.

Logoplanter · 01/11/2023 07:44

The Failing Writers podcast - witty and entertaining.

ThreeRingCircus · 01/11/2023 07:51

These aren't light hearted so probably not what you're looking but in case it's useful for someone else my favourites are:

Uncanny - people's tales of the supernatural. I like that they also have a sceptic on each episode coming up with theories as to how these stories could be explained.

Something was wrong - a different case each series telling the story of someone's relationship and when they started to notice that something wasn't what it seemed.

ColonelRhubarbBikini · 01/11/2023 08:33

Redhanded is bloody brilliant. It’s true crime but they also do a shorter show called Shorthand that is a quick rundown of lots of different things like the death of Princess Diana, the Indian partition and the Sherpa strike (think the shorthand is only on Amazon music mind) etc.

They treat the subject matter very seriously but they do have some lighthearted banter in between. They’re two British women in their 30s so I find I relate to them quite well.

If you have any interest in the 90s, we’d love you to give ours a try.

Its myself and DH taking on a different star, show, or group from the 90s each week. We do it for fun and we’re shocked to have charted quite a bit since we started 4 months ago. All links here pod.link/1704332159 or on the website, Talk2thehand.co.uk ❤️

Comfort Eating with Grace Dent
Walking the Dog with Emily Dean

Both ones where they chat to interesting people about their lives, but with a different ‘hook’.
