Where did you go for your honeymoon? I need some inspo!

Just wondering where people went for their honeymoons, I am in need of ideas!

We have been fortunate to travel a lot and I'm trying to decide on a destination for our honeymoon either next year or the following. Preferably long haul but open to all ideas really. I like the idea of French Polynesia but it is a schlep for flying so only an idea at this point.

We have been to places like the Hawaii and Maldives already.. open to all kinds of destinations and trips whether an all inclusive or adventure holiday. We also aren't tied into a time of year as have a destination wedding in 2024 so what we will most likely do is a short break after that and the main honeymoon at some point in 2025.

We booked Cape Verde......................but covid scuppered it and then we had a baby so still waiting!

First OP well done getting so much travel under your belt already, big regret of mine we didn't do it before kids as now won't have an opportunity to do a far flung trip for a very long time indeed.

But Brazil, Argentina and Chile were incredible for honeymoon. French Polynesia does sounds pretty spectacular too though and the sort of place you wouldn't otherwise go to. I wonder if anybody has done Galapagos for honeymoon as I'd be curious to know what that's like. Really enjoying reading where everybody went

Zanzibar....but only because we lived in Tanzania and were back at work in the Monday (we got married there as well). Friends daughter and her husband have recently got back from Bali.

Tahiti, Moorea and Bora Bora. Was perfect. Long flights, but it's so beautiful there.

Honeymoon- New York, Boston & Miami

10 year anniversary- San Francisco, Las Vegas snd Hawaii

15 years - New Orleans and Florida Keys

How did you do it, was it with a tour company? If so, which on

Bali

We did Vietnam and travelled north to south. It had a bit of everything - city, country, mini cruise, historic sightseeing and beach relaxation. We chopped and changed our plans as we travelled. It was perfect.

@beguilingeyes I planned the whole thing myself :) We wanted the freedom to choose where we went, where we stayed and how long we spent in each place. Japan is really easy to get around. We bought the Japan Rail Pass, rented a pocket wifi and stayed in some lovely towns.

We went to South Africa and Mauritius with Scott Dunn. It was truly incredible - I still think about it now 😍

Safari in Tanzania, followed by a week in Zanzibar. Two nights in Stonetown and the remainder by the beach. Was fab!

Playa del Carmen, Mexico 🇲🇽

We went on a week long driving tour around the wine regions of France, staying in lovely chateau hotels and eating obscene amounts of food. It was sublime.

Very similar. Loved it too.

Multi city trip to New York, Washington DC and Miami

British Virgin Islands, absolutely amazing. Think of it often when wrestling small humans to an all inclusive in Spain. Those were the days.

A week in a caravan near Brid. Best holiday ever.

Norway - not long haul but a totally wonderful country. The scenery is incredible and the people so friendly. Went back for our silver anniversary and planning a coastal cruise with Hurtigruten for our ruby anniversary next year )all being well....)

Definitely do this! I know two couple la who have been on this costal cruise and it sounds incredible.
We did a tour of China for our honeymoon.

Just Paris for 2 days I am afraid!

DH went to the canaries for 2 weeks for his first time though.

My niece went to Bali.
