Help - could anyone give me ideas for where a type of vase would be from?

It was a gift, many years ago, that has been broken.

Was an expensive gift at the time - crystal vase with silver base ( that has the silver markings on). Straight up and down so modern. Was a well know expensive brand.
Any ideas what it might be?

A jeweller perhaps, or a department store.

What's the brand? That will definitely help people find it or something similar.

Edit - sorry, I think you're asking for reminders of what the brand might be. My mistake.

Carrs of Sheffield? Dartington? Rosenthal?

I think a lot of the porcelain manufacturers also make crystal vases eg Royal Doulton, Wedgwood etc

Thanks all.

My recollection is it was a known crystal brand. I think it wasn’t dartington something that does more modern designs? It was sort of similar to that @GingembreThe but circular ( like the tube you’d get a poster in) and the base was on line with the vase itself if that makes sense. Not a huge vase, quite narrow ( so for example would fit a bunch of roses).

Just realised I can add an image of the broken base!

Edinburgh crystal

Bluevelvetsofa · 31/10/2023 12:48

Dartington?

Bigmousestrikesagain · 31/10/2023 12:49

Ahh - had a brain flash. I think it was Stuart Crystal maybe. Sadly no longer in business. Does anyone have ideas where would sell
something similar at all?

Thanks! They both look possibilities

Interestingly the Krosno one says "The smaller brother to the larger Krosno Hallmarked Silver Cylinder Vase, displays the same unique bubble in its base, which is a trademark of this range."

Your photo of the broken one has exactly that same shape bubble. So could it actually be the Krosno one!?

GrimGrinningGhosts · 31/10/2023 13:15

Waterford Wedgwood maybe?

Bigmousestrikesagain · 31/10/2023 14:15

I agree the bubble is really similar!

if you clean base and get a good clear photo of hallmarks it might help, i have a hallmark book so could possibly trace it

This looks like it or very similar.

Bigmousestrikesagain · 31/10/2023 14:19

@covetingthepreciousthings - yes I’ve found the same one and think that is it!

Thanks so much to everyone.

I think it is the large krosno one. I asked my mum and she recalled it was from somewhere like ‘Broadway silver’ - and that’s the krosno make!
