Wow, some of you live in some idyllic-sounding places!

the scenery

Yes, this. The things I can see.

lurchermummy · 31/10/2023 07:37

No scenery from my windows sadly but we have a lovely acer in the garden which is currently a beautiful shade of red.

The amount of take aways that 1 neighbour consumes in 1 day. Once they had 7 take aways in 12 hours! There is only 2 of them in the house and they don't work

To be fair, they’d probably struggle get out of the house.

Carsarelife · 31/10/2023 07:39

My front garden and my lovely car. Lots of school children at school run times and lots of people walking their dogs at all times of the day

I love my view especially when it snows. We live on a road that leads to the town centre so it's great for people watching and we're raised up from the pavement so people can't see in. Although it leads to the town centre it's not too busy but there's quite a lot of footfall. The best view is from my son's attic window I love seeing all the rooftops and there's a pretty terrace of colourful houses on the hill opposite.

Birds in the pear tree and the laurel tree in my garden, squirrels take a pear sometimes got to admire their effort.

A kookaburra having a bath in our pool, also amazing red and green parrots who hang out on the fence. I also have a jacaranda tree which is currently in bloom with the most amazing lilac flowers, won’t be so happy in a few weeks though when it sheds everywhere.

spiggydit · 31/10/2023 08:16

I bought one of those bird feeders that clip onto a window and spend happy hours in my urban front room watching sparrows coming and going. Best £8 I've spent

Cotswoldbee · 31/10/2023 08:48

Birds on the various feeding trays.

Having previously lived in an older house with a mature garden and lots of wildlife, it was a bit of a shock when we moved to our newbuild with no plants and worse, no birds. ☹️
Fast forward a couple of years, we have done some serious planting and the birds are now coming in. Hopefully the numbers will increase as the garden matures.

The little boy playing in his garden with his parents. They have such a good time and in the summer he plays out whilst we are having our dinner and we refer to him as the entertainment.

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 31/10/2023 08:58

Trees and shrubs I have planted.

Coastalcreeksider · 31/10/2023 09:02

My back garden, I have an Acer Garnet just outside the window and it looks like it's on fire it is so red. The leaves are dropping so I spend a lot of time gazing at it, it is so beautiful and I won't be able to look at it after Thursday when the gale force winds arrive and probably strip every leaf left on it.

Idratherbepaddleboarding · 31/10/2023 09:07

I like watching the trees rustling in the wind, the wild rabbits especially when there’s babies and cats going about their business. Recently, we’ve had squirrels too. My neighbours feed the birds but I hate birds, although once we had a woodpecker for a few weeks which was interesting once we’d figured out what the noise was. In the back garden, I like watching our dog doing his patrols.

The sea & the sky. It's basically the reason we live in this house, which in every other respect I don't really have any affinity or affection for. But looking out of the window is pure magic on a daily basis.

MaryJanesonabreak · 31/10/2023 09:20

Small children going to the primary school up the road. Especially on the first day of term when they are all box fresh with the creases of their new clothes still visible. So gorgeous, lifts my spirits every day.

slavetothekittens · 31/10/2023 09:22

Birds, squirrels and bats.

This is such a lovely thing to read when we see so many threads on here from people complaining about neighbouring kids daring to play in their gardens!

Goneforaride · 31/10/2023 09:35

The wide variety of birds which visit my bird table; the bats on summer evenings; the flowers in my garden; my pond and its inhabitants (large gold fish).

Chipsahoy · 31/10/2023 09:38

We are fortunate to live very rurally. The view from each window is different. We have fields and hills surrounding us as well as trees. We get deer and pheasants regularly as well as rabbits and hare. The odd grouse now and then too. Last week we had a whole family of partridges.
Before this house we had a view of the railway line and a pub. I am forever thankful for what we have.

ChinUpChestOut · 31/10/2023 09:41

I live on a long avenue with 1930s mansion blocks either side, and a green bit running in the centre section of the road, lined with trees. There's only a few yellow leaves on them now - last week they were beautiful. I can see my neighbours going in and out of their buildings, and I can see all the local doggos running around like lunatics on the green bit. I love my view - it's in a city in Europe, but I have enough green and trees around me to keep me sane, and seeing other people going about their daily lives makes me feel part of the community.

ArcticLingered · 31/10/2023 09:48

The neighbours who constantly go out and move their cars 3 spaces along to be nearer to outside their house - the holy grail being to get it in the space right outside. And then go out in it 2 hours later to collect their child from the primary school that is a quarter of a mile away.

Coastalcreeksider · 31/10/2023 09:48

If I open the bathroom window I can see a bit of the creek nearby with the yachts and looking over further to the golf course.

If I stand on a small stool and look out the Velux window I can see some of the fields on Portsdown Hill.

KimberleyClark · 31/10/2023 09:53

I love the view from my sofa. It’s nothing spectacular in itself, just houses and trees, but it’s just so familiar and dear to me.

CrunchyCarrot · 31/10/2023 09:56

On a clear day, being able to see the Welsh mountains. Otherwise, the trees and how they change with the seasons (some currently laden with berries), what the local cats are getting up to, the squirrels, the odd fox, sunsets and ever-changing clouds and what weather is coming towards us.

More mundanely, how many parking spaces there are left, and large vans trying to turn in the turning area!
