Help with breaking in DMs please

Dd got some of the softer leather DM boots. Thought she had worn them enough for short walks etc and attempted a longer trip - I have never witnessed blisters like what she ended up with! Her poor heels are raw. I was all for putting them on vinted but she wants another go!

I can order some of their special socks but was just wondering if there’s a trick I’m missing.

I heard that places like timsons do something to break them in for you, but not sure how true that is?!

Oh heck...I read the title as you asking for help to break into someone's direct messages (DMs) 😂

Haha 😂 think that might be beyond me! I found it hard enough today remembering how to start a thread.

Thank you all very much. Some great ideas to try. I’ve shown dd and she’s feeling much more confident that she’ll get back in them as soon as her poor feet are better. Thank goodness she still has her uggs from many years ago as that’s all she can stick right now.

I have something called a haglund deformity which mean the backs of my feet stick out ... so all shoes hate me and rub and blister. I wear a silicone protector to protect me until shoes are worn in. Like this one:

I have a pair which for 6 months I only wore to the corner shop and back. Now I wear them for longer walks but only with thick socks and haven't had a problem yet. Except I thought they would be waterproof? Are they not supposed to keep the rain out?

BonjourCrisette · 31/10/2023 08:06

All mine are waterproof. What type do you have?

DeceitfulMummy · 31/10/2023 09:49

Mine are 1460 soft leather from the mono range. DD had a glittery patent pair also 1460 but the kids range.

I have Serena faux fur ones, Pascal soft leather and Aimilie and none of them have leaked. Did you get them from Doc Martens direct or from a shop? I might think about having a chat to customer services wherever you got them from in your, ahem, shoes.
