Temporary contract- work issues. What to do?

I started a new public sector post 8 months ago, after being made redundant from the Civil service. I've fitted in really well, love my new team and manager. The plan has been talked about this far, to create a new team for my type of work and the understanding that I would be taken on permanently with additional team members also. Recently a different team have had a reduction in their work load, so suddenly and without warning my work has been transferred to them and me along with it.
I was quite shocked at this sudden decision and feel very vulnerable as a result. To make things even more difficult the new team is very resentful of this decision and one team member in particular was very unprofessional and rude during a group teams call, indirectly to me. I am really gutted, was loving this work and my team and just not sure what to do now. I feel if I make any fuss my job could be in jeopardy but equally I don't know if I want to continue if this is how it's going to be.
I'm normally very strong and quietly assertive but feel abit adrift, due to the fact I'm an agency worker and the other staff are permanent. My 'new' team leader is on annual leave this week so can't discuss with her. What would your approach be? Interested to hear some impartial advice.
