Cosy cafe in London Zone 1

Can anyone recommend me a cosy cafe with arm chairs and a snuggle feel? My friend has received some life changing news and we need somewhere warm where we can settle down, go through her options and feel safe enough to have a little cry.

Hard chairs and tables won’t help the conversation IYSWIM.

TIA

Google search doesn't bring up anything for 'cosy cafes Zone 1 London' and zone 1 covers a big area - 'Zone 1 covers the West End, the Holborn district, Kensington, Paddington and the City of London, as well as Old Street, Angel, Pimlico, Tower Gateway, Aldgate East, Euston, Vauxhall, Elephant & Castle, Borough, London Bridge, Earl's Court, Marylebone, Edgware Road, Lambeth North and Waterloo' according to wiki.

Maybe say where in Zone 1 and someone can help.

Despite the long hard table, the surrounding area includes a sette and some comfy chairs in a two person set up. Once you’ve ordered you don’t get hassled and can sit for hours if you want

I used to live by Candid cafe and that is definitely a good place to me at arm chairs and homemade food.

It is up a flight of stairs though hopefully not an issue.

It's in zone 1 is behind Angel tube.

Not cheep but the Goring Hotel would work. Which makes me think that other hotels with a decent lounge/ tea area might be good.

Thank you. Stairs are not an issue. And I am not after a specific area (other than Zone 1) @MrsDanversGlidesAgain otherwise I would have said eg: Charing Cross.

Definitely look at posh hotel lounges rather than cafes.

The Standard's Library Lounge has some really nice sofas at the far end between two shelves of books which are particularly private. If you fancy it - or any other hotel lounge - I'd definitely ring up and try to reserve them - if you say it's for a serious chat, the hotel will/should (!) understand and find the comfiest and most private area...

There used to be a cosy cafe with armchairs on the top floor at Waterstones on Regent St. It's been a few years since i was there but worth checking out.
