Using old Euros

Hi everyone 👋! Not posted on this forum before.

DD1 will being going on a battlefields trip soon, and it's been suggested that they bring some euros for spending money. I've found some old-style Euro notes (back from pre-COVID times). Does anyone know if these can still be used ?

Thanks!

Pre-Covid? As in 2019? I don't think anything has changed since then. It would be the same as using UK notes from a few years ago. I don't think there are any changes to euro notes/coins.

They have been gradually phasing in new ones but you can use both, the old ones are still on circulation

Probably a bit earlier than that - I can't exactly remember the last time one of us needed Euros. They are definitely the "old Style" notes.

I'll send her with them, and instruct her to spend them all - probably on funny-named chocolate bars...

Thanks - I was worried she would hand over an old note and would get funny looks!

Absolutely fine...no Euro notes have been withdrawn from circulation yet (apart from the 500 eur note) and i doubt you have one of those.
