I had a call from my son this morning he was at work and was concerned that his fingers and his thumb had turned dark blue and blotchy, I took him to a&e as it looked potentially like a meningitis rash.
At a&e they sent us down to another department and gave us a little laminated card with directions on, I held the card after my son and I now also have these blotches on my hands that have gradually gotten darker. The Dr has said that it is some kind of ink that is causing the staining. The card did not have anything visible on it when I touched it so it must be something that gains colour when it reacts with your skin. My son works in plumbers merchants warehouse so it is likely something he has touched there, no amount of scrubbing is budging it.
