Just saw someone do a costume which was a ‘sexy Anne Boleyn’. Now I know SIX the musical has made her even more popular among young people but this was a Tudor dress but mini rather than the Six costuming. It just made me think about how there are costumes people will wear that once no one would have ever thought would be a fancy dress costume. (and I know of course the Tudors did not know about 2023 halloween parties!)
Other one’s that spring to mind are Marie Antoinette - although if the history books depict her correctly I think she would have loved that young women copy her fashions even in this day and age when dressing up.
Another being Geri Halliwells Brit flag dress which she sewed from a tea towel the night before the Brits which is now one of the most iconic and identifiable fancy dress costumes ever.
Any others people can think of that are in the same realm?
