hi, im at my wits ends at the moment. My 13 week old baby, has suffered quite bad reflux - at first we were on Aptamil 1 but from 5 weeks it was apparent it wasnt agreeing with him. Then under a reccomendation from our GP we switched to Aptamil Anti-Reflux. At first it was amazing, totally content, kept the milk down only spat up a little, then after a few more weeks, he became really uncomfortable and horrible constipation; he would never have soft stools, so after a lot of researching we switched to kendamil stage 1. kendamil even advised with their ingredients etc it should naturally sort the reflux out… so far he just is sick constantly but feeds on it very well actually always finishing the bottle. But then is always sick? So i dont know if thats a bad this?
onto my next point.. from 7 weeks i started noticing clots of blood in his right nostril… one night he sneezed and then a small amount of blood dripped down his nose. I took him to A&E and only to get fobbed off and told unless its a lot of blood theres nothing to worry about. It then happened again a few days later so i took him back and said i just dont feel its right for a newborn to have nose bleeds! So i was referred to a consultant to look through his nose with a camera - they did and found nothing and said the same thing. I then thought it could be the formula causing this as he would strain until he was purple trying to poo!! So thats why we switched to Kendamil, so far easy stool movements which is great. This is now our 3rd week but noticed the blood again in his nose, yesterday he woke from a nap with a small amount of blood around his nose! I dont know what i need to do?
i feel medicial professionals are fobbing me off but he literally has no other symptoms, fine in himself, wet nappies etc etc just every week his right nostril has blood?!
please if someone could give advise it would help!
