Trying to source educational aids for my daughter who is in year 8. Any recommendations for something that will make studding enjoyable?

It really depends on her ability so you might be best to ask the teachers. We have students in year 8 who can barely read and those who would pass gcse with high grade.

What is you want to achieve?

Reading is the number one thing that you can do to improve English and therefore other subjects too.

There are some good English ones I have used from home bargains that came with stickers, fun activities, word searches and some decent creative writing activities that mirror GCSE content. I used these the lower ability students and I think they may have been KS2.

I suppose it's more of a general study aid that will cover the curriculum and she can keep refreshing each night. She is about noodle in her class so can read etc but just needs help with all the techniques I suppose

The very best thing you can encourage her to do to help her English is read (a wide range of books, fiction and non-fiction). Also, talk to her about what she’s been reading.

The Y8 curriculum will depend on the school and every school will teach different books, poems etc.
As others have said focus on reading. Reading books, articles, non-fiction but also Look for a KS3 comprehension practice work book as this will really help to build inference skills and reading skills. CGP have a Y8 quick 10 minute English activity book, this would be a good place to start. On Amazon for about £7.
