Has anybody got/once had 3DC under 4yo?!

Just a little nervous with DC3 on the way… DS2 is teething and the past few days have been hard dealing with him and 3yo on lack of sleep let alone when new baby is also in the mix! Excited but very nervous about how I will actually cope with 3 under 4yo!!

Would love to hear stories, even from people who grew up with close-in-age siblings?

Yes - my twins were born 2 days after my eldest turned 5 and I also had a 2 year old.

My friend had a similar pattern but her eldest two were less than a year apart so she had 4 under 4.

It was fine - although perhaps I had it easier with twins? It will be lovely they are all close together. They will all enjoy the same things for ages eg soft play. We have just been on a theme park holiday now mine are 13, 11 and 8. It’s nice they like the same sorts of things.

my favourite part of parenting was when I had a toddler and baby ❤️ such a precious time.

My triplets were born when my eldest was not quite 26 months .Not easy when they were tiny but great fun as they got older ,they still choose to spend time together as grown ups .

I had an 18 month old when twins were born. Honestly I think maybe the close age gap wasn't such a problem as a larger one, except the toddler was zero help whatsoever!
I spent the whole of my 2nd pregnancy stressing but somehow it all comes together and you figure it out!

Yes 5 under 7 here. Crazy days but fun.

I had twins when DC1 was 2. I still think first year with first baby was harder but I love it now they’re primary age. They’re a proper gang, all into the same things and (hopefully) friends for life.

@Itisbetter Did you get any sleep at all?! That’s amazing but you are far braver than me! Must be lovely to see them all close in age, I am really looking forward to that i’m just nervous about how I will get on if i’ve been up all night with one of them, then to face a full day with 3 of them! I think i’m just having a wobble tonight and thinking of all different scenarios.. and then freaking out 🤣

I had 3, 1 and new born and it was lockdown so no nursery - it was chaos, but actually not as bad as I anticipated. Being knackered was our main issue then, now our biggest issue is managing to spend quality time with each of them individually. But now they are 6, 4 and nearly 3 they play together, entertain each other, aren't a million miles away from each other in terms of development and its great. Still chaos, but really great (most of the time!)

@LeedsZebra90 this will be me! It’s definitely the sleep deprivation i’m v nervous about - DP works very long hours so I will be on my own majority of the time too

3 under 4 here too. It was busy, noisy and physical back then, but it's the best thing ever as they're all growing up v close and enjoy similar activities, which makes life both fun and interesting! (2 teens and a pre teen now)

I also found it easier having nappies, naps all in the same era! Our holidays etc are so much easier as all swim v well/love theme parks/can all do similar physical activities etc. They can all relate to each other v well, which really helps. It'll all be all right!
